History

The founder of the hotel
In 1893 Sloup-Šošůvka caves were found, therefore husband Josef Broušek and his wife Barbora built hotel near exit from the caves.

Many people from villages round Sloup started to research the subterranean spaces. Josef Broušek found many caves in the cave system. The most famous stalactite "Svícen" was found by him as well. Sloup became very favorite place for many scientists.
          

Karel Absolon was one of them; his grandfather was famous scientist dr. Jindřich Wankel. Karel Absolon chosen Hotel Broušek as the headquarters of his research in the caves for 16 years.
Many findings are exposed in Zemské museum in Brno.
